ACLS for Providers

ACLS for Providers

 

The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of pre-arrest emergencies (Bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke.


  • Audience:  For emergency, intensive care, or critical care healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.


  • Prerequisites:  You must have a current & valid AHA Healthcare Provider Card (Bring to Class)


  • **If you are getting renewed you will only need to attend the one day renewal course. Please click here to select an available renewal day. Current ACLS certification is required to qualify for renewal.


  • Class Preparation:  Please print this class preparation letter to find out what you need before attending your class.


  • Course Length: Two sessions, 16 hours


  • Contact Hours: 12


  • Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certification card valid for two years


  • Materials: ACLS 2010 Provider Student Manual
